What to expect in a first session on Lessonspace

First sessions on Lessonspace are usually smooth, but some users may require assistance depending on their technical setup.

Here are some important considerations:

  1. Ensure that all users have a strong and stable internet connection.
  2. Make sure they are using a supported device and browser, and that they have the most recent version of their browser installed.
  3. When joining for the first time, users may be prompted to grant camera and microphone permissions. They need to click on "Allow" to grant Lessonspace access to their audiovisual equipment.
  4. After joining the link, they will enter the "Lobby". Here, they can test their devices and when they are ready, they can click on "Join" to enter the Space.

<aside> 💡 Space refers to the classroom link that users join, while a session is an individual lesson held within that Space.

How to use the built-in troubleshooting menu during a lesson

Lessonspace offers a built-in troubleshooting menu that allows participants to report any issues they are experiencing during a live session. This menu is available to all users, enabling tutors to quickly identify and help resolve any issues students may be facing.

To access the troubleshooting menu, follow these steps:

  1. While in a Space, navigate to Setup > Troubleshooting.
  2. Check if everything is working correctly. If there is a problem, a red "!" icon will appear on the video feed.
  3. The troubleshooting menu provides prompts to assist users in resolving any issues they may encounter.
